본 작품은 2020년부터 2050년까지의 시간을 배경으로, 힐튼서울 건축물이 철거되지 않고 다른 방식으로 존속했다면 어떠했을지를 가정한 시나리오를 제시한다. 사전 포럼에서 도출된 다섯 가지 분석 틀—‘제도와 체제’, ‘사회적 기억’, ‘생성과 소멸’, ‘부패와 순환’, ‘권력과 유산’—을 토대로, 공간을 구성하고 해체하는 데 작용한 제도적 조건, 집단 기억의 생성과 소멸, 물질의 순환과 폐기, 권력 관계와 문화유산화의 문제를 탐구한다. 이를 통해 건축을 단순한 물리적 구조물이 아니라 사회적 사건, 제도, 기억, 권력의 상호작용 속에서 끊임없이 재구성되는 존재로 인식하고자 한다.

This work presents a speculative scenario spanning from 2020 to 2050, imagining the life of the Hilton Seoul building if it had not been demolished, but had instead remained through alternative means. Based on five analytical frameworks derived from a preliminary forum—Institutions and Systems, Social Memory, Genesis and Extinction, Decay and Circulation, and Power and Heritage—the project explores the institutional conditions that shape and dismantle space, the formation and disappearance of collective memory, the cycles of material circulation and disposal, and the issues of power relations and heritage-making. Through this lens, architecture is understood not as a mere physical structure, but as an entity constantly reconfigured through the interplay of social events, institutions, memory, and power.
