사전 포럼 3회차는 건축이 사라지는 행위에 ‘디자인’이 어떻게 개입할 수 있을지 질문합니다. 이때 디자인은 행동주의에 가까운 실천입니다.
철거를 위한 지식과 경험이 있다면 그것은 무엇인지?, 건물을 짓는 일과 허무는 일은 시간을 거꾸로 돌리는 일처럼 가역적일 수는 없는지?, 철거로 공간은 소멸하지만 그 파편은 다른 형식으로 남을 수 있을지?, 건축물의 풍화를 촉발하는 소멸와 재개발로 인해 사라지는 철거는 무엇이 다를지?, 이른바 기록이라는 행위를 통해서 우리는 과거의 무엇을 남기고 있는지? 등 쉽게 답하기 어려운 질문들을 호출합니다. 건축가가 설계한 건물이 본인 세대에 쉽게 사라지는 오늘날 숙고해야 할 이러한 질문들을 통해 건축의 소멸과 관련된 이야기 가지들을 펼쳐보고자 합니다.

Design for Disappearance:How can knowledge and experience related to vanishing architecture—such as demolition—be acquired?
The third pre-exhibition forum asks how design can intervene in the act of architectural disappearance. Here, design is understood as a form of activism.
It raises questions that are not easily answered: What kinds of knowledge or experience are involved in demolition? Could the act of building and unbuilding ever be reversible, as if turning time backward? While demolition erases space, can its fragments persist in other forms? How does disappearance triggered by decay differ from that caused by redevelopment? And through the act of recording, what part of the past do we truly preserve?
Through these reflections—on buildings designed by architects yet disappearing within their own lifetimes—the forum seeks to unfold multiple narratives surrounding the disappearance of architecture.
